Is Tesla White Interior Hard to Keep Clean?

Is having a white interior a smart decision to make? Will It be harder to keep clean than a dark-colored interior? These are the questions I will be answering and more. Read below to see if having the white interior on your Tesla is harder to keep clean and if you will regret getting the white interior or not.

Is Tesla White Interior Hard to Keep Clean?

A common worry that Tesla owners tend to have when getting the white seats is if the seats stain, mainly from dyed clothes like blue jeans, etc. Other worries would be if you have dogs or children who are in your Tesla as well. If accidents or even basic wear happens on your Tesla white interior is it easy to keep clean?

The answer is yes, believe it or not, the white interior on a Tesla is pretty easy to maintain and keep clean. Tesla uses vegan leather seats that are stain-resistant and are super easy to clean.

Most drivers say using baby wipes has been the best way to clean the white seats in your Tesla. However, Tesla recommends you use a clean soft cloth with warm water. Do not use any chemical solutions or any detergents, this can harm the white vegan leather seats.

Tesla also recommends that you do not clean your seats more than once a week. Over-cleaning the vegan leather seats on your Tesla can cause damage to the seats.

Does White Interior in Tesla Stay Clean?

Yes, the white interior in Tesla does stay clean. Since Tesla uses stain-resistant vegan leather for the seats on your Tesla, the seats Stay cleaner than normal leather. With that being said it is still white, and you may see some wear on the seats after a while. That can easily be fixed by wiping off the seats with a soft cloth and warm water.

Now since the driver seat is the most used seat you may see more wear than on other seats. One of the common issues is if you wear dyed clothes like blue jeans you may notice a blue stain on the white seat of your Tesla.

This is from the blue jeans, though the stain is small it is still noticeable on the white seat. This is more common the longer you sit on the seat with the blue jeans.

You can clean off the stain with a soft cloth and warm water, and if that does not work other drivers have said the stain fades after a while.

As I mentioned above, also consider if you have kids or own dogs. Kids tend to make messes if vehicles or accidents happen. And if you own dogs they tend to bring in mud and hair.

However, do not let that discourage you from getting the white interior in your Tesla if that is what you truly want. Just like with all vehicles, seats can get dirty no matter what. Thankfully with the Teslas vegan leather seats they are super easy to clean and are stain resistant.

Also with having a white interior, you will spot messes and crumbs easier than if you have darker seats. You will notice more when having a white interior and that helps bring it to your attention sooner so you can clean the mess sooner rather than later when it’s already settled in the seat.

Will I Regret Getting White Interior on My Tesla?

This answer depends on your lifestyle. If you have an active, busy lifestyle with pets or children (or both). You may not want to go for the white interior if you know it will get dirty more often.

Remember when you have a white interior in your Tesla every single dirt mark, scruff, crumb, pet hair, and coffee stain show.

Yes, the Tesla vegan leather is stain resistant but it is not magic, there are some stains that will never go away no matter how resistant it is. You can also check out my article on Best and Worst Tesla Colors for the exterior.

With that being said, if you are the only driver or you are already a clean person the white interior in your Tesla may be exactly what you want. If you do not mind the maintenance, and love the look of the white interior you will not regret it.

Not only does it add more of the futuristic modern style to your Tesla. It is also a huge conversion starter, people will want to know more about the white interior in your Tesla once they see it.

This is why I say that this is a preference if you want the white interior in your Tesla or not. You do have to maintain the seats and keep them clean, which is super easy to do with just using a clean soft cloth and hot water, or even baby wipes.

There is the extra cost to consider as well. To add the white interior to your Tesla it is an additional $1,000 USD. The white interior is not a part of the initial purchase, if you want a white interior in your Tesla this is an upcharge.

That alone is why some people do not think the white interior is worth it. This is something to keep in mind when considering getting the white interior in your Tesla.

How to Protect My Tesla White Interior

If you do wind up getting the white interior in your Tesla there are ways that you can protect the white interior to make it last longer and keep it looking like new. First, you are going to want to clean your seats, however, make sure that you do not do it more than once a week.

Over-cleaning the white interior seats can cause damage to the Tesla vegan leather that they use for the seats. When you clean the white interior make sure that you do not use any cleaning solutions or chemicals, this can cause damage to the white interior seats.

Even using any soap with detergents can cause damage to the vegan leather. What you will want to do is super easy, all you need is a clean soft cloth and warm water. Even some drivers have stated that baby wipes work perfectly for cleaning the white interior seats.

Another way you can protect the white interior seats in your Tesla is to make sure that you do not wear dyed clothes like blue jeans when driving your Tesla. Or if you do, make sure you have a cover on the seats to protect them from the dyed clothes.

The reason why I say that is because that is the most common stain for the driver’s seat when you have a white interior in your Tesla.

If you wear blue jeans they tend to make a blue stain on the white interior driver seat, especially if you sit in the seat for a long period of time. This is something to keep in mind when you have white interior seats in your Tesla.

Of course, there are other ways you can protect the white interior of your Tesla. Making sure you clean it but not too often does not damage the vegan leather, is one way.

You can also apply protective coating on the seats, but if you do that make sure you get a product that is meant for the white vegan leather seats.

You can also get seat covers for your Tesla, however, if you are spending extra money to have a white interior you might not want to cover the seats up, and that is understandable.

My Final Thoughts

In conclusion, if you are not someone who cleans very often then it can be hard to maintain and clean the white interior in your Tesla. However, if you like the clean, stylish, futuristic look of the white interior of the Tesla then go for it.

Yes, the seats are white but they are also pretty easy to clean. You just need a soft clean cloth and warm water, or even a baby wipe will work. The vegan leather that Tesla uses is resistant and easy to clean up any messes.

However, just like with all things, there are cons to having a white interior in your Tesla. This is all up to you if this is the look you want for your Tesla or not.
